This article, from Yad Vashem, includes important information about “Yechiel’s Struggle Group,” a team of 70 Jewish partisan fighters from Vilna. From the photographs included in the article, one can see that these young Jews look strong and rugged, yet, they were far from an official army, with a ragtag assembly of young members. Based in the Rudniki Forest in order to hide from the German enemy, the Jewish partisans waged their sabotage attacks at night, when they could not be seen.
