Haredim self-report ‘very good’ health despite inferior care

Objective statistics show a growing gap between the healthcare afforded to Israel’s Haredi and general populations. Nonetheless, recent studies suggest that this may not align with how the Haredi citizens experience their own health. Among Haredi citizens, 73% self-report their health as “very good,” as compared to only 51% among Israel’s general Jewish population. This brief statistical report from the Israel Democracy Institute offers a snapshot of Haredi health in 2019.
